Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and making a real impact? At Central Bank, we are hiring a Consumer Lending Collections Specialist.

We are looking for someone who will be able to assist the customer with their loan status and be able to create workable plans designed to assist the customer in bringing their loan account current. This position is suited for a high-energy individual who enjoys communicating with loan customers through phone, email, text, and written communication.

Responsibilities
  • Learning and maintaining knowledge of collection policies included in the Consumer Lending Collection Guide.
  • Creating a working knowledge of Collection/Repossession laws as they pertain to Consumer Lending, which will be used in your daily interaction with loan customers.
  • Being familiar with a working knowledge of Bankruptcy laws.
  • Possessing the ability to express yourself in a clear and concise manner in both verbal and written communications with loan customers.
  • Working with loan officers and operations staff for collection purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Possess knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school and some college courses which include specific courses in business and math.
  • Prior collections experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service and verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to interact both face-to-face and over the telephone with customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use tact, diplomacy and a professional personal appearance when dealing with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to initiate work activities with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment when accepting repayment arrangements or taking further collection action.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail. Strong math and statistical aptitude.
  • Possess working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good typing, word processing and written communication skills.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand computer systems utilized to evaluate/process transactions.
  • Ability to learn and understand regulatory and compliance issues as it applies to their area of responsibility.
  • Possess a creative mind used to locate borrowers who have ceased making loan payments.
