Job Location: This position will be located at Harry S. Truman Building, 301 W High St. Jefferson City, MO 65101

Why You’ll Love This Position

This position is responsible for coordinating investment activities and managing short-term investment strategies for the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office (“STO”). The role includes oversight of daily cash positioning, execution of overnight repurchase agreements, and support for broader investment operations. This list of essential functions is neither all-inclusive nor restrictive. Management reserves the right to modify, add, or remove duties as necessary to meet operational needs and organizational priorities.

  • Market monitoring, pricing, trade tickets, and counter party communications;
  • Coordinating trade strategy, collateral eligibility, settlement timing, and exception resolution;
  • Oversee collateral and compliance controls (haircuts, eligibility, substitutions), and documenting remediation;
  • Plan and manage short- and medium-term cash ladders (daily/weekly/monthly horizons) to ensure operational liquidity and minimize idle balances;
  • Produce accurate and timely daily and monthly reports related to liquidity position, term structure, counter parties, yield, and variance analysis;
  • Follow procedures and internal controls for investment operations;
  • recommend process improvements that strengthen continuity and audit readiness;
  • Support training and knowledge transfer to safeguard uninterrupted operations;
  • Execute and reconcile daily repurchase transactions to optimize liquidity, counter party balance, and risk-adjusted return consistent with policy;
  • Plan and manage short- and medium-term cash ladders (daily/weekly/monthly horizons) to ensure operational liquidity and minimize idle balances;
  • Ensuring alignment with project scope, objectives, and stakeholder expectations;
  • Document and measure outcomes against defined success standards;
  • Facilitate regular communication with managers and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of investment markets, economic theories, investment principles and portfolio management desired.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills are desired.
  • Strong computer skills are desired.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and experience developing and utilizing API-driven spreadsheets is desired.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal are desired.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with STO staff, outside vendors, and other customers.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and high degree of ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
