Position Summary

The Public Health Environmental Supervisor oversees environmental health programs and field operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and organizational standards. This role manages a team of environmental staff, coordinates field activities, monitors program performance, and supports the implementation of public health initiatives. The Supervisor ensures that environmental assessments and interventions are conducted efficiently and effectively to promote community health.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management & Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate a team of environmental health staff and field personnel.
    • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance to ensure quality and timely completion of work.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, training, and mentoring for team members.
  • Environmental Assessment & Monitoring
    • Oversee inspections, assessments, and environmental monitoring activities.
    • Ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and reporting.
    • Identify environmental hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Program Implementation & Support
    • Support planning and execution of environmental health programs.
    • Ensure field operations align with public health policies and standards.
    • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to implement interventions effectively.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
    • Ensure activities comply with local, state, and national environmental regulations.
    • Review inspection reports, audits, and investigations to ensure corrective measures are implemented.
    • Liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations on environmental health findings.
    • Maintain accurate records of field activities, incidents, and program outcomes.
    • Provide recommendations for program improvement based on observations and data analysis.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and community partners.
    • Support public health campaigns and educational initiatives.
    • Address community inquiries and provide guidance on environmental health practices.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field.
    • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in environmental health or public health programs.
    • Previous experience supervising a team or leading field operations preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
    • Knowledge of environmental health principles, sanitation, and safety standards.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to work in both field and office environments.
