Position: Program Supervisor (3013004)

Job Location

This position will be located at 930 Wildwood, Jefferson City, MO.

Why You’ll Love This Position

This position provides leadership, oversight, and helps formulate strategic direction for statewide oral health initiatives, supervising program staff and ensuring programs are evidence-based, performance-driven, and align with DHSS priorities. You will lead impactful work that improves oral health outcomes for Missouri families – especially in rural and underserved communities – by shaping strategy, strengthening partnerships, and turning data into action. If you are passionate about prevention, leadership, and building strong public health systems, apply today to join a mission-driven team making a measurable difference.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of oral health programs (e.g., community water fluoridation, workforce initiatives, community-based preventive services, medical-dental integration, etc.).
  • Develop and monitor SMART objectives, logic models, key performance indicators (KPIs), and performance dashboards.
  • Identify program gaps and implement continuous quality improvement strategies.
  • Supervise program staff including setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and conducting engagement meetings.
  • Oversee grant deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements and collaborate with fiscal and leadership on budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Monitor contracts and partner performance to ensure compliance and impact and support data modernization and performance measurement initiatives to guide program improvements.
  • Represent the Office of Dental Health at meetings, conferences, and public forums and continue to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, social sciences, or related field; experience in oral health or prevention-focused public health programs preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience of progressively responsible experience in public health program management.
  • 0-1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of public health principles, oral health programs, and program evaluation methods.
  • Experience with grants, contracts, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with schools, community partners, and public health professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences. (Equivalent experience may substitute for education where applicable.)

Lack of post‑secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
