- Plans, directs, and supervises the daily operations of the Insurance Specialists and the Payment Posting Specialists functions within the Centralized Business Office (CBO) under his/her direct supervision.
- Interviews, hires, and trains personnel under his/her direct supervision; responsible for mentoring, coaching, and counseling all direct reports.
- Completes employee performance evaluations within 30 days of due date. Holds annual reviews with employees in a timely manner and submit completed paperwork to Human Resources with appropriate documentation.
- Review workflow processes on a continuous basis to determine if streamlining is needed and/or necessary.
- Actively participate in employee education, and answers questions from both physicians and employees. Ensure that all physicians and/or their staff are kept abreast of insurance related changes at the beginning of each year if applicable.
- Monitors quality of work, standards, and productivity of direct reports.
- Effectively communicate with clinics, providers, and direct reports to ensure accuracy of demographics and insurance billing information if applicable.
- Resolve payment issues by working with the Insurance Specialist if applicable.
- Participates on committees and attends meetings applicable to his/her position.
- Leads proactively and is a visionary who influences, mentors and holds staff accountable.
- Effectively communicates within the organization and with the public consistent with JCMG’s philosophy, vision and mission.
- Appropriately uses facility communication, information systems and equipment.
- Strives for continuous quality improvement.
- Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.
- Maintains high work ethic standards.
- Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate, BA or BS degree preferred
- Minimum of three to five years medical office practices/other related experience
- Supervisory experience required with 5 years experience in a medical billing office.

- Competency in medical terminology as demonstrated by formal training and experience
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices
- Knowledge of office procedures, government regulations and billing requirements
- Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with staff, co-workers, providers, and patients
- Computer literate, knowledge of spreadsheets and other applications
Works in heated and air-conditioned area consistent with a normal office environment.
