HR Business Partner - Part-Time

Reporting to our Canadian Headquarters

We're looking for a proactive, people-focused HR Business Partner to support our U.S. operations and partner closely with managers to drive business success. In this role, you'll provide practical, operational, and hands-on HR guidance while supporting day-to-day activities, helping create an engaging and compliant workplace.

This position covers a wide range of HR responsibilities-from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance reporting (including ACA):
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for U.S.

    -based roles, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Partner with managers to provide guidance on HR best practices, performance management, coaching, and workforce planning.
  • Support employee relations, conduct investigations when needed, and manage all steps of the termination process.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.
  • Prepare HR documentation, including employment agreements, policy letters, and other HR-related communications.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, etc.) and support employees with benefit-related questions.
  • Oversee ACA compliance, including annual reporting and required submissions.
  • Contribute to health & safety initiatives and support internal audits to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Work closely with teams in the U.S., while collaborating with HR leaders at our Canadian headquarters.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. labor laws and HR best practices.
  • SHRM certification (preferred).
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (a plus).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support multiple U.S. locations.
