Why You’ll Love This Position

The primary focus of this position is to assist ITSD-DMH in handling technical support questions and triage of application issues. Duties include monitoring email notifications, assisting with monitoring and troubleshooting errors within transaction and scheduling systems (TIDAL, SQL Server, Mainframe, application audit logs and Cherwell, etc). Responsible for resetting files and/or rerunning processes when errors occur. Personal interactions with Business Owners, DMH private providers and other team members are required.

This position will spend a significant amount of time researching and troubleshooting a wide range of problems. The successful candidate for this position needs to have a technical background. Candidate must be effective working collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently, as circumstances dictate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor multiple methods of issue reporting (Cherwell, emails & webex chats, etc.)
  • Analyze tickets and direct users to the most appropriate solution
  • Write T-SQL queries to identify and resolve data-related issues
  • Analyze, code, test and implement software updates
  • Review and follow technical documentation related to a wide range of issues and processes
  • Direct interaction and advisement of DMH Business users
  • Coordinating and consulting with other team members to complete work as needed
  • Periodic review and update of documentation related to issue resolution and various processes
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills required
  • Excellent customer support and communication (oral and written) skills required
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues simultaneously
  • Software development training is required
  • Experience with MS SQL query writing preferred
  • Experience with MS Visual Studio preferred
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops is a plus
  • Familiar with Agile development concept
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
  • Software development training is required.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints, and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
  • Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area.
  • Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications.
  • Ability to learn and apply concepts.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas and think critically to resolve issues.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA‑ITSD) supporting the Department of Mental Health (DMH).
