Job OverviewThe client is seeking an experienced Virtualization Administrator to manage and support VMware and Hyper-V environments in both Production and Test/Development environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in virtualization infrastructure, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain VMware Infrastructure, vSphere, and Hyper‑V clusters
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain new virtual machines
- Support and assist with VMware Horizon when required
- Work with system owners to fine‑tune VM configurations for optimal performance
- Monitor and detect virtualization infrastructure issues
- Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization
- Develop and document provisioning procedures and operational standards
- Propose and implement VM provisioning solutions
- Apply ESXi host upgrades, security patches, and vulnerability fixes
- Conduct storage migrations, vMotion, and P2V migrations
- Develop and execute test plans for upgrades and installations
- Provide after‑hours support when required
5+ years of experience in VMware and Hyper‑V administration
Strong hands‑on experience with vSphere
Experience in:
- Storage migrations
- vMotion
- P2V migrations
- Capacity planning and performance tuning
Basic understanding of Unix/Linux systems
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
Ability to work independently and in team environments
Preferred SkillsExperience with VMware Horizon
Knowledge of virtualization monitoring and performance tools
Experience working in enterprise infrastructure environments
