Overview
The Hospital Industry Data Institute (HIDI), the data company of the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA), is seeking a Database Administrator to design, administer, monitor, secure and optimize enterprise business intelligence and analytics database platforms. This position supports Microsoft SQL Server and modern serverless cloud-based data platforms, including Azure Serverless SQL, Parquet and Delta Lake storage, ensuring scalable, secure, high-performance data solutions for HIDI, participating hospitals, business partners and affiliated organizations.
Responsibilities- Design, administer, monitor, secure, and optimize enterprise BI and analytics database platforms in support of HIDI and partner organizations.
- Support Microsoft SQL Server and modern serverless cloud-based data platforms, including Azure Serverless SQL, Parquet and Delta Lake storage, ensuring scalable, secure, high-performance data solutions.
- Collaborate with participating hospitals, business partners and affiliated organizations to understand data needs and deliver reliable data solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Internet programming environments, computer operations, computer languages, database systems, spreadsheets, graphics and related applications; thorough understanding of database concepts and demonstrated experience using relational databases; SQL database experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to write effective technical documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; knowledge of systems analysis, data processing, programming and computer applications; ability to write complex queries, table joins, sub-queries, nested table expressions and stored procedures.
- Understanding of healthcare data, code set standards and industry classifications (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT and CMS-HCPCS) within a hospital environment or related experience.
- Self-starter with a high degree of self-motivation and self-discipline.
