Position: Parts Room Attendant (2nd Shift)

The Parts Room Attendant position is an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday (2:30pm-10:30pm) working in our state‑of‑the‑art, climate‑controlled facility, with the opportunity for voluntary overtime and, at times, may require overtime beyond the normal workday. As a Parts Room Attendant, you will perform various tasks to support maintenance by organizing all parts, tools and maintaining a perpetual inventory of all machine parts.

The position is also responsible for ordering the parts to ensure correct parts are picked, issued, and received.

Job Duties
  • Daily inventory/cycle count and requisition parts to order.
  • Prepare periodic inventory or maintain perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of parts inventory and incoming orders daily.
  • Receive and issue parts in system daily.
  • Issue tools and equipment to workers and maintain records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
  • Receive and put away parts delivered daily by end of shift.
  • Receive and process all Purchase Orders (POs) real‑time.
  • Systematically organize and maintain parts room in accordance with instructions.
  • Communicate with all authorized team members daily to timely and correctly review any orders for parts requested.
  • Communicate part needs with supervisor.
  • Maintain returned parts for proper inventory maintenance.
  • Assist with annual evaluation of parts usage to determine what needs to be stocked and what needs to be removed from stock per manager and usage reports.
  • Manning the parts window/desk.
  • Ensure parts room security/parts room access.
  • Enable and maintain Grainger machine accesses.
  • Monitor and maintain outside/overnight and weekend requests for tools.
Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Preferred
  • 1 year of parts experience.
  • Experience using E‑maintenance or other inventory system.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with occasional time spent in a professional office setting. This role is consistently exposed to loud noise levels and powered industrial vehicle traffic, and it occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. Throughout the day this position is required to see color variance between product, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, stand for extended periods of time, lift 50 pounds to shoulder height, and perform repetitive motion using wrists, hands, fingers, with the ability to feel and reach with hands and arms.

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work vary, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
