WORKSAMPLE REQUIREMENT:
To fully assess your communication skills, applicants are asked to attach 3-5 distinct samples of work demonstrating written communication and/or graphic design abilities to their resume and cover letter.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Support a wide range of communications activities, including content creation, digital updates, internal communications and public-facing messaging
- Create, edit, and publish content across multiple platforms, including websites, email newsletters, social media, and print materials
- Assist with managing and updating department websites using Word Press and Drupal
- Monitor digital analytics to track performance of communications efforts and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure all digital and print materials meet accessibility standards, including Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 509 guidance
- Assist with the design and layout of communication materials, including webpages, graphics, presentations, and promotional items
- Support marketing and outreach efforts that promote department programs and initiatives
- Actively participate in communications team brainstorming, planning, and strategy meetings
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to gather information and develop clear, accurate, and engaging content
- Prepare and distribute informational materials to internal and external audiences
- Contribute to public awareness campaigns and other department-wide communication initiatives
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong written and oral communication skills required

- Creative problem-solving and storytelling abilities
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles
- Understanding of layout and design fundamentals
- Experience with Drupal and/or Word Press preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in communications, marketing, graphic design, journalism, web design, or a related field.
