Job Summary
Manages women's services activities, workflow, and nursing resources.
Responsibilities- Collects and analyzes health data to develop and implement individualized plans of care for women and newborns, achieving measurable outcomes within a woman‑, newborn‑, and family‑centered care framework.
- Coordinates delivery of care to promote woman‑, newborn‑, and family‑centered care within scope of practice.
- Employs health‑teaching strategies that promote, maintain, and restore health in a safe environment.
- Evaluates progress toward expected outcomes.
- Makes ethical decisions for patients, guided by a sound framework for ethical decision‑making.
- Practices in a manner consistent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
- Communicates and collaborates with families, health‑care providers, and the community to provide safe, holistic care.
- Serves as role model, change agent, consultant, and mentor to families, consumers, and other health‑care professionals.
- Acquires and maintains up‑to‑date, evidence‑based knowledge and competencies for women, newborns, and families.
- Integrates evidence to evaluate and improve interprofessional knowledge, theories, and approaches in care.
- Implements new measures to enhance quality of nursing practice for women and newborns.
- Evaluates own practice and participates in assessment of others regarding evidence‑based consumer care, standards, and guidelines.
- Considers safety, effectiveness, technology, and fiscal responsibility in planning and care delivery.
- Practices in an environmentally safe manner when caring for women, newborns, and families.
- Maintains constant state of alertness and safety while working.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school or educational equivalence for licensing.
- No prior experience required.
Must be able to: communicate orally, stand, walk, lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally; sit, reach, use a keyboard; use vision, depth perception, smell, hearing; bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist; drive occasionally; and remain alert while working.
Licenses & Certifications- Current Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin).
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) – American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); or NRP Essentials – American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
- Night Shift (United States).
- 36 hours per scheduled week.
- Paid parental leave: one week for newborns or newly adopted children (pro‑rated based on FTE).
