Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care in settings where patients require complex assessments and interventions, following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Obtains comprehensive data from patients, families, and other healthcare providers to develop a holistic understanding of the patient’s needs or condition.
- Analyzes and synthesizes assessment data to determine diagnoses or conditions relevant to care.
- Develops a plan prescribing strategies and alternatives to attain desired outcomes, using clinical judgment in collaboration with patients, families, and the interprofessional care team.
- Implements the plan, employing strategies to promote and maintain a safe environment, while coordinating implementation with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
- Contributes to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, evaluates one’s own practice, and maintains current knowledge and competence.
- Applies evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge to critical care nursing, ensuring care is delivered based on the patient’s age‑specific and clinical needs.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or possessing education equivalency for licensing.
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification from the Emergency Nurses Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and NRP Essentials from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification from the Emergency Nurses Association.
