Job Summary

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.

• Contribute to the assessment of patients and ensure their well‑being.
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions.
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educate patients and families about disease treatment plans, self‑care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow‑up care.
• Document provider encounters, diagnoses, symptoms, discharge/follow‑up instructions, and prescriptions as directed.
• Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Complete patient charts by transcribing lab results, x‑rays, and other evaluations.
• Continuously check the progress of data availability for orders to ensure a complete workup for provider decision‑making.
• Transcribe consultations or discussions with family and/or private physician or on‑call physician.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.

Experience: No experience required.

• Constant use of speech for oral communication.
• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify color distinctions.
• Frequent use of smell to detect odors.
• Frequent use of hearing for oral communication, body sounds, alarms, etc.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional moving of patients.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Occasional driving.
• Rare crawling and running.

• Illinois:
  Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin:
  Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Nurse Licensure Issued by Compact State.

Day Shift. Scheduled weekly hours: 36.
