Overview
As a Medicare Open Systems Engineer with Info crossing INC within our BPS-IHS division, you will play an integral role in managing the entire software development lifecycle for mission-critical healthcare and Medicare software solutions. This position demands expertise in system requirements analysis, design, coding, rigorous testing, implementation, and ongoing support, ensuring we deliver robust, scalable, and compliant systems that meet and exceed healthcare industry standards.
Your technical proficiency will include in-depth familiarity with J2EE architectures, Webservices, and lifecycle management tools, combined with hands-on experience in frameworks such as Struts, Spring, JSF, EJB, Hibernate, or iBatis. Alternately, candidates with .NET and SSRS reporting expertise are equally valued. Experience working with mainframe environments and healthcare domain knowledge will elevate your impact in this role.
Beyond core technical skills, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to elicit and validate requirements, ensure quality and compliance, and contribute to process improvements that enhance productivity and software quality. You will be empowered to leverage your knowledge to innovate testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and reporting processes tailored to complex healthcare applications.
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of three years’ relevant industry experience. Experience:
Your background should demonstrate significant experience in Java/J2EE development environments, including proficiency with modern application frameworks and tools. Mastery of Webservices standards, security considerations, and integration techniques is essential.
Familiarity with software design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and database interactions is important for success in this role. Experience in test automation, continuous integration, and version control systems will be highly advantageous.

- Collaborate with product and business analysts to deeply understand functional and non-functional requirements, transforming them into comprehensive, precise, and testable test plans.
- Develop, peer review, and continually enhance detailed test cases to maximize coverage and reduce rework.
- Implement best practices in test design including model-based testing techniques to optimize test efficiency and effectiveness.
- Define clear criteria for scope and exclusions in testing, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and user acceptance principles.
- Engage proactively in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases to validate solution readiness and gather end-user feedback.
- Drive automation of test lifecycle components using a range of tools including VB macros and GUI automation to streamline repetitive tasks and improve regression cycles.

- Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks tailored for software validation encompassing environment setup, execution flow control, and result handling.
- Implement automated test cases effectively to enhance coverage and reduce manual effort, ensuring high-quality releases.
