Coach - Elementary Basketball, Boys or Girls

Purpose Statement

The Jefferson City School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Coach – Elementary Basketball.

JOB GOAL:
To teach and coach our students at the highest level that can be attained which would support the academic beliefs and practices of the Jefferson City School District.

• Practices will start October 21st
• Games will start after Thanksgiving on Wednesdays (December 4th and run through early February)
• There will be a tournament at the end of the season on a Saturday (date TBD). There will be no games or practices over Thanksgiving and Christmas break
• Each practice will be 90 minutes before games begin
• Once games start, we will have 1 practice (60-90 minutes) and 1 game each week
• Specific game schedule is TBD, but elementaries will compete against each other
• Practices will be at the elementary schools
• Games will be at select elementary schools
• There will be a boy’s league and a girl’s league
• Each team will have 1 coach
• Jerseys will be provided
• Coaches will manage communications with team families and other basic aspects of managing their team
• Can be anyone of any experience level, just need to pass a background check.
• HS coaches will provide a "starter packet" to help you run practices, drills, etc.

Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Must be able to demonstrate performance in physical situations including weather or surface related areas as well as working on game plans or other related tasks that would be done by the head coach.
