Part-time School Bus Monitor

Jefferson County School District Bus Garage - Jefferson City, Tennessee

This is a split shift position (a.m. and p.m.). Bus monitor positions are for school buses that transport students with special needs.

Convenience Care for employee plus one dependent; no cost to employee; provides unlimited teledoc visits; no-cost prescriptions (on selected list); mental illness support app. $10,000 life insurance policy paid by JCS.

• Assist the school bus driver;
• Assist students to safely embark and disembark;
• Ensure a safe trip for every student;
• Ensure that students get off at the correct bus stop;
• Help implement safety standards on board the bus;
• When applicable, assist with loading/unloading and securing of assistive devices and safety restraints;
• Assist driver with student management.

• High school diploma or GED;
• Ability to work with all students;
• Ability to physically move wheelchairs on wheelchair ramp and into the bus;
• Ability to physically remove students from a disabled bus;
• Ability to get along with co-workers, parents, students and other staff;
• Ability to interact with students;
• Ability to follow directions;
• Ability to communicate with staff.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $57.50 to $57.50 Per Day
