Job Purpose
Operate production machinery safely and efficiently; maintain documentation; communicate ideas and problems; perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs; participate in changeovers; responsible for producing best quality product.
SafetyFollow all employer safety regulations; lock-out/tag-out policy; wear PPE; address unsafe conditions; report to Shift Production Supervisor; conduct safety training.
Daily Operations- Monitor deviations from expected OEE, complete operator checklists, collect quality data.
- Correct quality deviations, monitor SPC charting, communicate progress and improvement ideas.
- Perform maintenance tasks per Maintenance Manager, troubleshoot machine and process issues.
- Establish SMART goals, attend training, volunteer for improvement teams, seek higher education.
- Ensure cleaning tasks per Master Cleaning Schedule, maintain accurate production reporting.
- Participate on plant teams: safety, quality, sustainability, OEE, maintenance, wellness, brainstorming, continuous improvement.
- Operate powered industrial truck, boom lift, and scissor lift per OSHA.
- Produce and pack product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Label/tag production, maintain traceability with lot codes.
- Isolate and track non-conforming products and materials.
- Perform downstream testing and record results.
- Communicate out-of-spec conditions, food‑safety, and food‑defense issues.
- Follow GMP, HACCP, and prerequisite food‑safety programs.
- Prevent foreign‑material contamination; maintain clean, organized work area; perform sanitization and waste‑management per schedule.
- Perform scheduled equipment changeovers per plant schedule.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks per PM program.
- Manage PM tasks in CMMS, generate work orders, address inefficiencies.
- Keep equipment clean, evaluate for improvement, tag parts for repair/replacement.
- Maintain parts inventory, notify Maintenance Manager when low.
High School diploma or GED; ability to act as Person‑in‑Charge when needed; sense of urgency, accountability, ethics, professionalism, self‑motivation, and focus on improvement.
Abilities- Come to work promptly and regularly.
- Take direction, work well with others, and handle stress of deadlines.
- Concentrate and perform accurately; react to change productively.
- Physical activities: climb, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift up to 50lb (occasionally), grasp, hearing threshold 40dB, vision for small defects.
- Repetitive motion; medium exertion up to 50lb occasionally and 20lb frequently.
Subject to extreme heat (>100°F for >1h), noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, and oil exposure.
