School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Jefferson, GA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Licensed Practical Nurse dedicated to a 5th-grade student for the upcoming academic year. This position provides a chance to make an immediate impact on student health and wellness within a dynamic elementary school environment.

As the students 1:1 nurse, you will be responsible for a range of crucial clinical tasks, ensuring quality care and a safe environment throughout the school day. Your morning will begin by meeting the student at their residence, providing supportive care as you accompany them to school by bus, fulfilling the directives of the IEP and physicians orders. The daily schedule follows the school calendar, typically running from 6:30 am until mid-afternoon, Monday through Friday.

Desired Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid, active LPN license in the state of Georgia (required)
• Experience working 1:1 with students in a school environment preferred
• Proven competence in g-tube feeding, seizure response, oral suctioning, supplemental oxygen use, and medication administration
• Familiarity with asthma care and management of G/J-tubes
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing circumstances, and follow detailed care plans

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and monitoring for a student with complex medical needs
• Administer medications and manage feeds (g-tube, G/J-tube)
• Monitor and maintain airway, including oral suctioning and supplemental oxygen
• Track and document vital signs, attending to seizure episodes as needed
• Collaborate with school and medical personnel to ensure continuity of care from home to school and back
