Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $20.60 per hour
Location: 351 Collins Rd, Jefferson, WI 53549
Job SummarySeasonal Material Handler position expected to last 3-4 months. The role is responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehoused parts and delivering to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Will work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler must achieve company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities- Follow established procedures, processes, or policies.
- Operate forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility.
- Perform forklift daily inspections.
- Develop a good knowledge of the company, including projects for career development.
- Learn principles, practices, and processes in the function or discipline.
- Develop business knowledge required for the full job.
- Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisor where appropriate.
- Follow defined procedures and practices.
- Communicate primarily with immediate supervisor and other team members.
- Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.
- Participate in team meetings and exchange job‑related information.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, attendance, and quality.
- Operate all equipment safely and effectively.
- Practice safe working habits, following safety guidelines and supporting company initiatives.
- Know basic functions of the ERP system.
- Assist in training new employees or employees learning new work areas.
- Actively understand and participate with the Drive to Zero program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 0‑1 years of experience.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Model positive and professional work ethics.
- Effective communication skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, stand and walk. The employee may occasionally lift up to 25–50 pounds, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The job requires frequent and continuous computer‑based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Occasional travel may be required.
