The employer is a rapidly growing, highly respected food manufacturing powerhouse that actively preserves a tight-knit, family-oriented corporate culture. Known for treating its employees exceptionally well and investing heavily in professional growth, they provide a stable platform where leaders build lifelong careers.

As the Lead Operations Supervisor, you will take the reins of the second-shift production crew across heavily automated, world-class sanitary processing lines. You won't just be monitoring machinery; you will shape team culture, drive continuous improvement metrics, and own the safety, quality, and throughput of your production window—backed by a clear structured path toward senior operations management.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
  • Drive Floor Operations:
Provide direct shift floor leadership, mentoring and motivating a high-performing production crew, managing daily shift schedules, and optimizing labor allocation across active lines.
  • Maximize Line Throughput:
Optimize raw material flow and resource allocation to minimize downtime, eliminate bottlenecks, and consistently achieve aggressive shift output targets.
  • Champion Food Safety Standards:
Enforce strict food safety protocols, championing a culture of absolute compliance with FDA, SQF, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement:
Lead localized continuous improvement (Lean/5S) projects to enhance floor procedures, cut waste, and boost Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Manage Shift Handoffs:
Facilitate seamless cross-shift communication and structured handoffs between first and second shift teams.
  • Maintain Plant Safety Protocols:
Maintain a zero-incident safety culture, conducting risk assessments, addressing shop-floor hazards, and managing daily shift performance logs via ERP/software systems.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
  • 3+ Years Supervisory Background:
Verifiable supervisory experience in a sanitary, climate-controlled, or highly regulated plant setting (food processing, beverage, consumer goods, or blending).
  • Proven Team Leadership:
Proven leadership capability to direct, motivate, and hold a diverse production workforce accountable to productivity and safety metrics.
  • Union Relations

    Competency:

Comfortable navigating the nuances of a union environment, maintaining fair labor practices, and resolving floor issues with professional diplomacy.
  • Technical & Software Fluency:
Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook) or ERP/MES production tracking systems.
  • Stable Professional History:
Progressive professional record demonstrating reliability, strong attendance, and multi-year tenures.
  • Local Commute Access:
Proximity to the facility, residing within a dependable 45-minute daily driving radius of the Jefferson, WI area.
Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)
  • SQF / HACCP

    Certifications:

Formal credentials or active certifications in HACCP coordination or SQF Practitioner standards.
  • High-Speed Packaging

    Experience:

Direct familiarity with automated high-speed primary or secondary packaging lines for consumer goods.
