As a DSP in our Waukesha and Greater Milwaukee Area programs, you will plan and teach recreational activities as well as activities of daily living, provide personal cares, and support community integration for adults with developmental disabilities. You will also transport clients locally, complete and maintain accurate reports, and maintain a clean and safe environment. The position involves building strong relationships, responding to and de‑escalating behavior issues, and ensuring confidentiality.
Requirements- High School Diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to read, interpret, and write reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning ability: problem solve with a variety of variables in standardized situations, interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the organization’s standards and valid vehicle insurance; ability to maintain a personal vehicle if required.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the organization.
- Physical ability: ability to stand, walk, reach, climb/balance, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment may involve moderate noise levels and exposure to outside weather conditions.
