Job Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified, senior database developer to design stable and reliable database solutions according to our company’s needs. The candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing database solutions to help applications and users retrieve data effectively. As part of our IT Product Development team, you will work closely with developers to ensure system consistency.

You will also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

1. Design and implement scalable, high-performance databases

2. Continuously improve database performance

4. Drive analytics and reporting capabilities, working along with Business Intelligence teams

5. Accelerate development with AI & automation

7. Ensure data integrity and security (Data Governance)

8. Gather user requirements and identify new features

9. Liaise with developers to improve applications and implement best practices

10. Develop technical and training manuals

11. Provide data management support to users

12. Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols

13. Follow policies and procedures in the execution of all responsibilities.

14. Perform all other functions as required, including any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within client

Qualifications

Proven work experience as a senior PostGreSQL Database Developer, including pgplsql.
Writing complex SQL statements and performance tuning.
Knowledge of AWS Redshift, Lambda, step functions, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, is highly desirable .
Knowledge of Amazon Aurora and no-SQL databases is a plus.
Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving operational database challenges.
Proven experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive optimization.
Experience working with data pipelines.
In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).
Experience using AWS RDS to manage and monitor cloud-based database hosts.
System architecture thinking.
Proficient with git.
Experience with data mesh, domain-driven design, and/or data lake architecture.
Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications.
Familiarity working with .Net Framework, Java/JDBC, and Node.js.
An ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum Methodology.
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Microsoft Office applications.
Proficiency using AI-powered tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT).
