ABOUT DENTON FLOYD & FORGE CONSTRUCTION
Denton Floyd Real Estate Group is a vertically integrated real estate firm headquartered in Jeffersonville, Indiana, serving the Louisville metro and surrounding markets. Founded in 2008, the platform acquires, develops, builds, manages, and ultimately exits multifamily, senior living, and industrial assets through a set of in-house divisions that include Forge Construction, DF Development, Capital Markets, Vector Design Group, DF Property Management.
Forge Construction is the firm’s general contracting arm, delivering ground-up multifamily, senior living, and commercial projects for both affiliated and third-party owners. Because Forge builds what the platform develops, its accounting function sits at the intersection of construction operations, development budgets, and lender and investor reporting — making this a uniquely visible seat within the organization.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Vice President of Accounting leads the accounting function for Forge Construction and some of our verticles, owning job cost accounting, work-in-progress reporting, contract billing, and financial close for the construction division. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of construction financials, the integrity of project cost forecasting, and the systems and controls that support a growing project portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a construction accounting professional who understands percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, retainage, change orders, and subcontractor compliance at a practitioner level — and who can translate project-level detail into decision-ready reporting for executive leadership, lenders, sureties, and ownership. The successful candidate will partner daily with project executives, project managers, and preconstruction, and will serve as the connective tissue between the field and the finance organization.
