Are you an accounting expert who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, business partnership, and financial governance? In this role, you will own the accounting, reporting, and internal control environment for key balance sheet and income statement areas within a significant legal entity. Representing the Chief Accounting Officer organization, you will provide authoritative accounting guidance, translate business activity into compliant financial statements, and influence critical financial decisions through expert technical judgment and cross-functional collaboration.
WhatYou'll DoMonth-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for an assigned accounting portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement results, identify key business drivers, and communicate financial performance to management.
- Ensure data consistency across subledgers, the general ledger, consolidation systems, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Determine appropriate accounting treatments under IFRS and company accounting policies.
- Research, document, and support technical accounting conclusions and accounting estimates.
- Review accounting analyses, reserves, and provisions, challenging significant fluctuations and underlying assumptions.
- Proactively identify and elevate accounting risks, control concerns, and potential reporting issues.
- Serve as the primary accounting partner to finance and operational stakeholders supporting the assigned portfolio.
- Translate business activities into accounting impacts and provide practical guidance on accounting requirements.
- Coordinate period-end accounting activities and drive alignment between accounting, finance, and operational teams.
- Ensure reconciliations are completed, supported, reviewed, and remediated in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls supporting financial reporting.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to support audits and resolve findings.
- Identify process and control improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, eliminate manual activities, and strengthen data quality.
- Support finance transformation programs, including automation, AI, and system enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain process documentation and support knowledge sharing, training, and change management activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in Audit or Assurance, preferably with a Big Four public accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Preferred: CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, analyze complex issues, and communicate recommendations effectively.
- Proven ability to partner with stakeholders across Finance and the business.
- Experience with Oracle is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Interest in leveraging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve finance processes.
