Project Manager, Operations Manager

Purpose of Position

A Project Manager plays a key role in the overall operations of E & B Paving. This person is a customer service representative who has internal and external customers. The external customers are new and existing clients. Internal customers are their co-workers and teammates. It is their responsibility to be actively involved in projects, from bidding to collection. They must understand all aspects of the project and offer assistance in the field when needed.

Communication amongst all parties is vital to success. Communication includes verbal and non-verbal cues. Non-verbal Communication includes paperwork given to the field. The estimator/ project engineer must learn to prioritize their tasks and utilize their time appropriately.

• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Maintains existing business relationships and creates new opportunities
• Responsible primarily for Bridge, Grade, and Drain, and subcontractor project management and document control
• Works closely with field superintendents and the Area manager
• Assists the contract administrator with billing and receivables

• Working knowledge of INDOT and/or KYTC specifications (or ability to learn quickly).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; experience with digitizing takeoff or similar estimating software.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
• Working knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid/ Heavy Job is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
