Job Description

The Facility Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining the facility’s infrastructure and systems to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operations. This role supports the operation of building systems, coordinates maintenance tasks, assists with facility projects, and ensures compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, MAU, RAU, scrubbers, chillers, boilers, chemical and waste management, electrical systems, cleanroom environments (temperature & humidity control, pressure control), UPW, PCW, vacuum & CDA systems, and specialty gases and chemicals.
  • Follow maintenance schedules and procedures to keep all facility systems operating consistently at optimum levels.
  • Work with colleagues on facility improvement projects such as renovations, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend system lifespans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to building systems and equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs and potential improvements.
  • Assist with emergency repairs when necessary.
  • Ensure all facility operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
  • Help develop and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor and manage energy consumption, promote sustainability, reduce costs, and implement energy‑saving initiatives.
  • Track utility usage, costs, and report on energy efficiency and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Ensure proper waste management and compliance with EPA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
  • Prepare reports related to facility operations and maintenance status.
  • Collaborate with facility staff, management, and other departments to address facility needs and support operational goals.
  • Provide training and support to staff on facility‑related procedures and safety practices.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree in Facility Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 1‑2 years of experience in facility management, building systems maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and project‑management skills.
  • Proficiency in facility management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Certification in facility management (e.g., CFM, FMP).
  • Experience with energy management and sustainability practices.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to the industry or facility type.
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and update skills.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment with frequent visits to facility and production areas.
  • May require occasional travel to other facilities or vendor locations.
  • May involve working outside regular hours to address facility issues or oversee projects.
