Senior Manager – Hardware Engineering
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager to lead the hardware development of our Industrial Automation offers. This role is ideal for a senior technical leader with a strong background in electronics and mechanical system design, deep experience in safety‑critical, standards‑driven environments, and a proven track record of delivering industrial or automotive products from concept through customer release.
Responsibilities- Driving strong system engineering practices
- Guiding the teams in risk analysis, modelling, simulation and automation of design and verification
- Championing design for cost, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability
- Driving knowledge reuse, standardization, common architectures, design principles and reusable platforms to continuously improve standardized hardware development processes and time‑to‑market
- Providing technical and people leadership across the full product development lifecycle from concept and feasibility to customer release and field support
- Ensuring compliance with industrial and/or automotive standards (e.g., functional safety, EMC, environmental, reliability)
- Leading development in safety‑critical environments with strict regulatory oversight
- Commiting to strict compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL, SIL, CE)
- Driving a strong culture of engineering rigor, quality, and documentation
- Driving the application of AI, automation and data‑driven methods across requirements, system design, schematics and layout, and verification testing to improve quality, safety and speed‑to‑market in regulated industrial automation products
- Leading, mentoring and developing multidisciplinary hardware teams (electronics, mechanical, systems)
- Defining and driving clear, measurable goals aligned with the Hardware CoE mission
- Fostering strong collaboration with product management, firmware, software, safety, validation, manufacturing, and supply‑chain teams
- Promoting an inclusive, systems‑thinking culture of collaboration and improvement across globally distributed teams
- Proven track record of driving end‑to‑end hardware product development, from concept and system architecture through customer release and field deployment
- Strong hands‑on expertise in electronics engineering, including analog and digital design, power electronics, embedded hardware, EMC/EMI, signal integrity and power integrity
- Background in mechanical engineering, including thermal management, structural design, design for manufacturability, assembly and serviceability
- Deep understanding of electromechanical system integration for industrial environments
- Experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, traceability, architecture, interface management, design trade‑offs, risk analysis)
- Experience developing products in safety‑critical, highly regulated environments, knowledge of IEC, ISO, UL, CE, EMC, environmental and reliability standards (functional safety experience is plus)
- Experience with modelling, simulation and verification methodologies, including MBSE approaches
- Understanding of hardware verification and validation strategies: reliability, stress and compliance testing
- Knowledge of AI and data‑driven techniques in hardware development (requirements analysis, design reviews, test generation, defect detection)
- Experience driving automation of engineering workflows with explainability, auditability and compliance
- Strong people‑leadership skills: mentoring senior engineers, building technical capability, developing future leaders
- Ability to reduce silos and collaborate across product lines, software, systems, safety, manufacturing and quality
- Strategic systems thinker with strong judgment, balancing technical depth, business priorities and execution rigor
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; self‑mandated authority, expertise and collaboration
- Passion for engineering excellence, improvement and safety‑critical product integrity
