Position Summary

The Institutional MHAS is a critical role in our unique customer model, supporting the U.S. commercialization of COBENFY, the first ever treatment to target muscarinic receptor circuits for schizophrenia. The role engages providers and care team members at Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers, and Hospitals, serving as a key member of the hospital launch team across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Promotion
  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory, meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintain and grow a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans, outlining strategic drivers, tactics, and resource allocation.
  • Use available tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with hospital clinicians, pharmacy departments, and pharmacy and therapeutics committees to encourage formulary access.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of access, affordability, reimbursement services, and payer/formulary processes.
  • Show deep knowledge of hospital-based treatment pathways, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
  • Demonstrate scientific expertise and passion using approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
  • Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) with HCPs, ensuring consistency with product labeling.
  • Organize external speaker programs, selecting speakers from the approved list and managing logistics.
  • Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engage real-time medical support through Medical on Call to address complex inquiries.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate proactively with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience.
  • Share relevant insights internally with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work with matrix team members on approved promotional programs and hospital initiatives.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies governing conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Experience building and maintaining credibility with key community and hospital-based customers.
  • Experience in Psychiatry, Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavior Health Centers, and hospitals preferred.
  • Understanding of acute care, hospital, and healthcare system dynamics.
  • Experience engaging with P&T committees and knowledge of formulary and reimbursement processes.
  • Strong account management and selling skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills proven through performance.
