Director of Warranty Data Governance
The role is responsible for the governance, oversight, and management of all data‑related activities for Warranty North America, leading a team of data analysts and data stewards, and ensuring compliance with General Insurance data governance bulletins, standards, and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Govern, oversee, and manage all data‑related activities for Warranty North America.
- Lead and train a team of data analysts and data stewards, supporting offshore or near‑shore teams.
- Ensure adherence to General Insurance data governance bulletins, standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Oversee Warranty data operations and business intelligence strategy for a high‑transactional business unit within the General Insurance business line.
- Provide input into the general operating budget process and IT budget strategy, while maintaining operational budgets and ROI tracking.
- Manage day‑to‑day data operations, including support tickets and reporting or business intelligence needs.
- Train and mentor teams and business units on best practices for driving a culture of data excellence.
- Participate in business reviews with clients and senior leadership as needed.
- Identify and recommend data and process improvements to enhance efficiency and change.
- Previous experience leading a data support or business intelligence team.
- Experience supporting offshore or near‑shore data teams.
- Strong understanding of data strategy, including data warehousing, data lakes, and other storage and recall techniques.
- Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, AWS Cloud, Snowflake, and related tools.
- Knowledge of cloud data and AI ecosystems (Azure, AWS, CoPilot) and common analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with Data Governance and Responsible AI practices (data quality, privacy, security, data modeling).
- Master’s degree in Business, IT, Data Sciences, or Analytics preferred;
Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent work experience of five years of leadership is acceptable. - Minimum five years of leadership experience in data management or analytics.
- Strong communication skills and a “can‑do” attitude that inspires others.
- Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Understanding of virtual and remote management best practices.
- Knowledge of Warranty or Insurance products is strongly recommended.
- Experience with internal and external data audits and technology product delivery roadmaps.
- Process mapping, documentation, and presentation of current and future state data strategies.
