About the Role
Orion Wholesale is seeking a motivated Senior Buyer to join our growing merchandising team. In this role, you ll manage vendor relationships, purchase inventory, analyze sales trends, and ensure our customers have the right products at the right time while maximizing inventory turns and profitability.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, building strong supplier partnerships, and making decisions that directly impact company performance and customer satisfaction.
What You ll Do- Purchase inventory based on sales trends, demand forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, promotions, and freight terms.
- Monitor inventory health, product availability, and purchasing performance.
- Analyze sales data and inventory metrics to identify opportunities and reduce risk.
- Manage assigned product categories, including new product introductions and discontinued items.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, and Finance to support inventory planning and product launches.
- 2+ years of purchasing, buying, merchandising, or inventory management experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in wholesale distribution.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience.
- Knowledge of inventory forecasting and planning.
- Microsoft Power BI experience.
- Experience in the shooting sports, outdoor, hunting, or sporting goods industry.
