About the Job

Talis Group's client is a global leader in providing innovative technology for the manufacturing industry. They are dedicated to advancing research and innovation by delivering high-quality, reliable, and state-of-the-art solutions. They are seeking an experienced Buyer to join the team. This role will be responsible for managing material purchasing, inventory levels, and supplier relationships to support efficient production and on-time customer order fulfillment, with an emphasis on Lean Practices.

Jeffersonville, IN area.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 (based on direct experience) plus a comprehensive benefits package.

HIGHLIGHTED DUTIES:

• Plan and manage material requirements using MRP/ERP systems to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Purchase and expedite materials; resolve shortages and discrepant materials.
• Develop, manage, and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain reporting to support production schedules.
• Apply Lean principles (Kanban, pull systems, JIT, point-of-use) to improve inventory flow and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams and suppliers to mitigate delays and material shortages.

HIGHLIGHTED REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS with 3-5 years of procurement or supply chain experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 3 years of ERP/MRP system experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• CPIM/APICS certification and international procurement experience a plus.
