Dover Precision Components (DPC) is part of the Dover Corporation. We design and manufacture mission‑critical equipment components for the oil & gas, power generation, marine, industrial, chemical and general processing markets.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints to determine proper tool selection and machining parameters.
- Set up manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, milling machines, boring machines, grinders) to achieve close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of parts.
- Use various measuring devices to inspect first parts, in‑process parts, and final parts for quality.
- Apply Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) as called out on prints.
- Operate fabrication machinery (mostly Mazak and HAAS) for production parts.
- Ensure correct machine set‑up and interpret specifications to prevent material damage; conduct frequent tolerance/quality checks.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Ability to operate various machine tools to perform progressive machining.
- Strong blueprint reading and planning skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required). College coursework or related formal training preferred.
- Minimum 3 years shop experience or trade school apprenticeship.
- Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading necessary.
2nd‑shift machinists start at $26–$28 per hour, plus $1.50 shift differential and $1.00 raises every 6 months, with potential to top out over $35 per hour and a quarterly performance bonus up to $750.
Eligible for a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in the applicable bonus plan.
