Responsibilities
Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and the Adult population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is currently searching for a Staff Development Coordinator for our Staff Development Department.
The Staff Development Coordinator directs the staff development program for the hospital, organizes and plans cycles of training sessions, new-hire orientations, and, as able, individually tailors training programs for all staff. This person is required to be a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff
Education:
1. Assumes responsibility for the completion of all staff development training responsibilities/new hire orientations, and other assigned duties.
2. Participates in performance improvement activities.
3. Instructs hospital staff in mandatory training as a new employee and reviews in a timely manner based on the policy of the hospital.
4. Maintains records of all staff development requirements on all hospital staff.
5. Scores all test results from trainings and files in employee records.
6. Acts as a participating member of all meetings and committees as required.
7. CPI/CPR instructor.
8. Primary contact for HEALTHSTREAM administration
9. Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Nursing or CEO.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate from an accredited program in nursing. Master's Level preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in staff education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices and procedures.
Licensure:
Registered Nurse in state of Indiana.
Additional Requirements:
Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, restraint and seclusion, and ability to prepare and present training events as directed for Nursing Services. Completion of training in CPI/Verbal De-Escalation and CPR within 30 days of employment. May be required to work occasional weekends and/or other hours; conduct weekend training as needed. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
