Registered Nurse
A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities:
- Assessment:
Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. - Development & Implementation:
Initiates, prioritizes, implements, and revises the plan of care as indicated. - Evaluation:
Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. - Education:
Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. - Leadership:
Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor and preceptor, encouraging teamwork. The RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. The RN complies with regulatory standards.
