Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN will rapidly assess, prioritize, and manage patients with a wide range of medical emergencies, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, supervise support staff, and ensure safe, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and reassessments.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.
- Provide emergency nursing care for patients with acute and critical conditions.
- Monitor patient response to treatments and document clinical outcomes.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions as ordered.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure timely patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge instructions.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and mentor support staff.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- 2+ years of recent acute care Emergency Department (ED) RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current PALS Certification
- Current NIHSS Certification
- Strong emergency assessment, critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous experience as a preceptor or charge nurse
- Experience caring for high-acuity emergency and trauma patients
- Familiarity with evidence-based emergency nursing practices and quality improvement initiatives
