Overview
Job : | Services LLC. The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Responsibilities- Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
- Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
- Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
- Serve as department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on department’s key issues, strategies and performance.
- Identify, promote and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, incident response planning, facilitating and management.
- Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours; work in variable temperatures, weather, and loud environments; climb stairs as required.
- This role covers 24/7 operations and may require working all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
As an SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You will conduct regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events, and analyze data reports. You will interact with external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality services and contribute to budgetary planning for external suppliers.
You will lead initiatives to improve physical security infrastructure and deliver loss prevention education across management levels.
Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Loss Prevention and the broader Amazon Worldwide Operations and allied businesses by creating a secure work environment through global security centers of excellence. The team develops policy, conducts training, uses technology to reduce risk, and conducts audits to ensure compliance.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
- 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.
- Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
- Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.
- 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
- Investigation interviewing experience; relevant certifications such as Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, or Certified Threat Assessment.
- Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and business continuity planning experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and creating charts/graphics.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
