Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Jenison seeking CNC Swiss Lathe Operators who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, tool wear, and adjust offsets as needed.
• Load raw materials and unload finished components, ensuring proper part segregation.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and perform basic preventative maintenance tasks.
• Document production data, including part counts, scrap, and downtime.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience operating CNC Swiss-style lathes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Experience with tool changes and basic machine maintenance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Part Maker, Esprit) for programming and simulation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex machine and tooling issues.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks on CNC Swiss lathes.
• Experience with quality inspection tools beyond basic calipers/micrometers (e.g., optical comparators, CMMs).
• Prior experience training junior operators or acting as a lead.
