PositionSummary
We seek a collaborative and student-centered Collaborating Teacher to serve as a full instructional partner within a Lower School classroom. Working closely alongside a Lead Teacher, this educator helps design meaningful learning experiences, supports individual student growth, and fosters an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, seen, and challenged. This role is ideal for an aspiring professional or reflective educator eager to deepen their practice in a progressive, child-centered setting.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Partner with the Lead Teacher to facilitate engaging whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction.
Support students academically, socially, and emotionally through developmentally responsive and identity-affirming practices.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Guide children through daily routines, transitions, play, and conflict resolution to support student independence.
Participate actively in planning meetings, collaborative curriculum design, and divisional life.
Engage thoughtfully in coaching, reflection, and regular professional learning opportunities.
Qualifications & SkillsExperience working with young children (ages 3–10) in school, camp, or youth-centered educational settings.
Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or a related field.
Demonstrated cultural competency and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging.
Warmth, flexibility, optimism, and a highly collaborative approach to team-teaching.
Interest in progressive, inquiry-based education (familiarity with Responsive Classroom is welcomed).
