Job Title:
Retail Banker I

The Retail Banker I functions as a customer liaison, leveraging financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with banking solutions and to identify opportunities for TD product and service recommendations.
Responsibilities- Build and nurture customer relationships by listening to needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Make product recommendations based on customer goals and provide benefits.
- Utilize CRM tools for proactive assessment, outbound sales, and customer outreach.
- Handle teller transactions (cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing) while ensuring fraud mitigation and adherence to operational policies.
- Escalate complex or high‑risk transactions and resolve customer issues independently.
- Maintain active NMLS registration and complete NMLS training upon hire.
- Support store operations, risk compliance, and documentation accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members and partner bankers to achieve operational and service objectives.
- Deliver Legendary experience through consultative support, proactive insights, and sound advice.
- Act as a customer advocate, improving financial confidence and providing resolution.
- Educate customers on self‑service and digital options.
- Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and operational regulations.
- Support timely, accurate business processes and proper documentation.
- Escalate non‑standard or high‑risk activities as necessary.
- Contribute to a positive work environment and team collaboration.
- Communicate issues, improve delivery of work, and seek feedback for career development.
- Adhere to TD’s Shared Commitments, code of conduct, and diversity agenda.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1+ year experience in customer service or sales (volunteer, education, military, or teller preferred).
- Strong communication skills; ability to be concise and clear.
- Organization skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Notary License (Preferred).
- Full proficiency in teller transactions achieved through on‑the‑job training.
- Continuous:
Performing sedentary work; operating standard office equipment; reading, writing, and comprehending instructions; applying common sense; concentrating for long periods. - Frequent:
Sitting; standing; walking. - Occasional:
Lifting/carrying under 25lbs.; bending; reaching; pulling or pushing; etc.
- Eligible for employment as a loan originator or mortgage loan originator under RegulationZ and the SAFE Act.
- Eligible for NMLS registration.
- Must produce satisfactory background and credit checks.
