Job Description
GEAR Up Site Coordinator Assistant
REPORTS TO: GEAR Up Site Coordinator/Secondary Administration
SUMMARY:
This position assists the GEAR Up Coordinator in providing college and career guidance to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The Gear Up Site Coordinator Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Gear Up Coordinator in the daily implementation of the GEAR UP program and activities within the school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES .
- Assist in developing and implementing and/or enhancing parent workshops. Assist in coordinating academic year college visits, industry tours, and guest speakers for students
- Assist with coordinating annual planning sessions with GEAR UP students.
- Manage data collection and regarding project benchmarks and outcomes.
- Collect rosters from each event listing students and families served.
- Submit monthly invoices, receipts, logs, and reporting documents to GEAR UP Idaho state staff.
- Support GEAR Up coordinator with school activities, providing planning assistance or acting as a chaperone for college and Industry tours as well as school activities
- Manage day-to-day office operations of the grant
- General phone and email communication
- Work directly with Gear Up coordinator
- Attend mandatory trainings
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed
Experience interacting with the general public
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft computer programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and, problem identification and resolution.
- Working knowledge of Google suite applications including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Drive
- Assume responsibility, take initiative, and develop new ideas with co-workers; make independent decisions; manage multiple projects; interact with peers, supervisors, students, parents, and other third parties calmly and effectively.
- The ability to establish rapport with adults and adolescents and serve as a positive role model are essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly stands; walks, uses hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently reaches with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Terms of Employment: 15
-19.5 hours per week on the 180 classified employee calendar schedule
Salary & Benefits: 1. Salary to be determined by placement on the district Classified Salary Schedule Secretary Level C
