Job Description

Title: Trauma Informed Services in Schools (TISS) Grant Project Director

Summary: The TISS Grant Director works with the Jerome School District support team as well as community partners to assist in the planning and implementation of grant programs. He/she will coordinate the successful completion of grant goals overseeing several aspects of the project simultaneously. Working closely with social workers, counselors, building and district administration, students, and parents to support implementing trauma informed best practices in Jerome School District.

Reports To: Special Education Director

Professional Requirements
  • Certified or Classified:
    Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, education, or related fields.
  • Certified:
    Valid Idaho Certificate with appropriate endorsement for assigned position.
  • Social work, counseling, or education experience preferred.
  • Highly skilled at building trust and confidence between individuals and organizations.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Possess good knowledge of planning and strategizing financial and budgeting issues.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Community organizing and/or team building experience.
  • Highly organized – able to manage multiple projects and priorities with ease.
  • Capable of collecting, managing and understanding data (data driven decision‑making).
  • Results oriented.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Competent technology user.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Knowledge of office safety and ergonomics.
  • Public speaking may be required.
  • Use of a personal vehicle to transport supplies and attend off‑site meetings as requested.
  • Be able to show proof of insurance on vehicle.
  • Able to work outside of usual office business hours may be required from time to time.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently stands, walks and sits. The employee may repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion repeatedly. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs, such as boxes of books and equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as ability to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.

The position requires the individual to successfully meet multiple demands and interactions with the public and other staff. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate to loud. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors.

Terms of Employment

Determined yearly by academic calendar, 7.5 hours per day (does not include unpaid lunch).

Salary & Benefits
  • Certified:
    Yearly contract based on the academic calendar as determined by the Board of Trustees and employee placement on the district’s career ladder. Current salary placement is determined by the employee’s experience and education level.
  • Classified:
    Salary determined by education and experience for placement on the Classified Salary Schedule. This position shall be considered in all respects "employment at will" and the terms set forth in this job description shall not create a property right and are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what types of services will be required by the District.
  • Comprehensive benefit
  • Certain specific assignments may require additional work days (extended contracts) as determined by district administration.
Evaluation

Performance of this position will be evaluated periodically by the Program Director or a designee in conformance with District policy relating to evaluation of classified employees.
