Certified Teacher – Science, Grades 9-12 (School Year 2026/27)

Location: Jerome High School, Jerome, Idaho – Jerome Joint School District 261

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $50,252 to $76,359 per year (based on experience and education level).

Instruct pupils in assigned subject matter as specified by state law and regulations/procedures of the school district.

Building Principal

• Classroom, students, paraprofessionals as assigned by Building Principal

• Valid Idaho Certificate with appropriate endorsement for the assigned position.
• Documentation (e.g., HOUSSE Rubric and/or Praxis Exam) of Highly Qualified for the position.
• Ability to perform duties in accordance with general educational ethical requirements of the Jerome School District and the State Department of Education.

• Meet and instruct students at designated times and locations.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Follow curriculum, instruction and assessment practices as approved by the Board of Trustees.
• Adapt subject material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils.
• Adapt the curriculum to provide individual, small group or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual pupil.
• Participate in curriculum, developmental programs and student activities.
• Complete appropriate reporting requirements in a timely manner.
• Evaluate and suggest revisions to the program, as needed.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the Building Administrator.

The employee frequently stands, walks and sits, and may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. The position requires close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and to attend meetings in the evening and at other locations. Noise level is generally moderate. Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors.
