Position Summary
Math Corps is a national tutoring program that partners with local schools to provide students with extra math support. As a Math Tutor you will work in small groups of up to three students, engaging them in focused practice sessions for 20–30 minutes each. You will help students build confidence and improve their math skills, receiving training and ongoing coaching from school staff.
CoreResponsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow the school schedule to ensure consistent student support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with each school’s on‑site coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
- Share your experience with the community.
- Dependable with a history of good attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Positions cover the 2026‑27 school year, November 2026 to May 2027. The typical full‑time commitment is 37.5 hours per week, with daytime hours that align with school schedules. Part‑time positions are available at 27.5 or 15 hours per week.
Pay & BenefitsFull‑time Ameri Corps members receive a stipend of $16.08 per hour served, paid biweekly. Additional benefits include:
