As an industry leader serving the food and dairy industries, we are seeking an Associate Process Engineer to support our growing and dynamic business. In this position, you will work closely with the customer to provide solutions to accomplish their project goals. The associate process engineer assists with drafting, process design, estimating, quoting, installation and commissioning of processes and equipment to be installed at customer facilities.
Responsibilities- Partner with project engineers in establishing relationships with customer to better understand their engineering needs and lead the project to completion
- Assist with developing and managing the project schedule
- Collaborate with project manager to develop the project scope and deliverables
- Estimate project costs and develop the proposal for the customer
- Design processes for the customer’s needs, ideally increasing production rate, volumes, efficiency, etc per project plan
- Work with vendors and suppliers to specify components required
- Collaborate with the mechanical design team for fabricating new equipment
- Assist with managing the installation of new processes from scheduling resources to ensuring the installation is proceeding as planned
- Assist with start-up and commissioning of new processes and equipment
REQUIRED
- Associate’s degree in drafting or equivalent years of related experience
- Minimum of one year experience with AutoCAD or 3D
• Strong communication skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
- Travel up to 30%
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in metal fabrication/plumbing/pipe fitting
- Knowledge of heat and mass transfer relative to basic liquid processing
