Position SummaryAs a Packaging Operator, you will support the Packaging team in packaging and storing bagged and tote products. You will ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation and maintain compliance with GMPs, sanitation requirements, and performance measures.
Essential Functions, Duties and Performance Responsibilities- Read, interpret, and maintain Packaging Log Sheets
- Conduct daily audits of CCP charts and Metal Detection
- File all charts, log sheets, and production documents with precision
- Maintain Metal Detector charts and Metal Detector Log Sheets
- Track and record Animal Feed weights by product
- Demonstrate strong work ethics and foster a culture of teamwork
- Adhere to all plant, OSHA, and Safety Regulations
- Transfer finished product from the palletizing room to the Warehouse
- Scan packaged products into the inventory management system
- Inspect all product packaging for defects
- Perform any other projects as assigned
Education
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work-related experience
Experience
- Forklift experience is preferred
- Packaging experience is preferred
- Milk processing plant experience is a plus
Skills and Knowledge

- Proven track record of ensuring timely, accurate, and complete documentation
- Ability to complete pre-operational checks on all equipment

- Attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities
- Good interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with production lines and equipment is preferred
- Excessive ascending and descending of ladders and stairs; body agility required
- Walking, standing for extended periods
- Repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers
- Stooping, kneeling, and crouching as needed
- Lifting up to 55 lbs regularly, up to 60 lbs occasionally
- Subject to noise up to at least 92 dB and temperatures up to 90 degrees
- Office machines (e.g., PC, copier, calculator, phone)
- Packaging equipment including powder storage bins, transfer lines, hoppers, bagging equipment, metal detection equipment, inkjets, palletizer, stretch wrappers, forklifts, dock doors, dock levelers, and hand tools
