Production Lead – Night Shift

- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Flexibility required for employee or supervisor coverage as needed

The Production Lead plays a key role in day-to-day manufacturing operations at our milk processing plant. You'll work closely with the Production Supervisor to meet production goals, maintain quality and safety standards, and lead a diverse team of employees. This role blends people leadership with operational oversight and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do- Lead and motivate production employees to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals
- Oversee sanitation activities to ensure equipment cleanliness and compliance
- Monitor production processes and operating parameters, using data to drive improvements
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Support corrective actions and implement approved SOP/SSOP and sanitation updates
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA standards are followed
- Coach, train, and develop employees to build a skilled, engaged team
- Communicate effectively through shift handoffs and plant meetings
- Partner with Logistics by providing accurate inventory information
- Encourage employee involvement and ideas for process improvement
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
- We prefer at least 3 years of production experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry
- We prefer at least 2 years of people-management or lead experience in a fast-paced, diverse environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze data and take action
- Flexible and adaptable in a changing production environment
- Proven ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations
- Team-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement
This position requires regular activity in an industrial manufacturing environment, including:
- Standing and walking on concrete for extended periods
- Repetitive hand and arm movements
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 100 lbs rarely
- Exposure to high noise levels (up to 92 dB), heat (over 100°F), and indoor/outdoor conditions
You'll support operations involving advanced dairy processing and packaging systems, including:
Separators, membrane systems (UF, RO, NF), HTST, evaporators, dryers, bagging and palletizing equipment, CIP systems, and analytical tools.
