Summary Operates gasoline or diesel-powered flatbed trucks and commodity trailers to safely transport agricultural products—such as feed commodities and other loose or packaged materials.
Ensures timely deliveries, follows safety procedures, and maintains a professional, reliable presence on the road.
Key Responsibilities Operate tractor/trailer combinations to transport agricultural products, including feed commodities and other loose or packaged materials, on local or long-haul routes. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, checking lights, brakes, tires, and other critical equipment; report any defects to the Trucking Manager. Refuel and maintain equipment by replenishing fluids (fuel, oil, water), cleaning the truck and trailer, and removing debris to keep equipment in safe working condition.
Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations; follow all DOT and DMV safety standards. Assist with loading and unloading to ensure products are handled safely and records are accurate. Support warehouse operations by helping with shipping and receiving tasks as needed. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. One year of over-the-road driving experience or completion of training from a certified driving school; equivalent combinations of experience and education are also considered. Key
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret work documents such as safety rules, road signs, maps, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic writing skills to complete simple reports or correspondence. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Problem-solving ability to follow written or verbal instructions and handle routine issues that arise during standard operations. Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
