Beacon Hill is staffing for several Staff Accountant opportunities in the Somerset County area. These positions can be on-site or hybrid.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and assist with variance analysis.
- Review and process expense reports, ensuring proper coding and adherence to company policies.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or corporate experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Quick Books).
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
