Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to oversee various aspects of accounts receivable and contribute to the financial operations of our organization. In this hybrid role, you will work on-site two days a week in Jersey City, New Jersey, and remotely for the remaining three days. This is a Contract position, offering the opportunity to transition into a long-term role.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately apply payments to customer accounts in Quick Books and Webstore based on daily receipts.

- Manage payment processing for a variety of methods, including electronic funds transfers (EFTs), physical checks, mail orders, and credit card transactions.

- Collaborate with the Collections Coordinator to address issues such as short payments and discrepancies.

- Support the sales team by notifying them of received payments and assisting with account management.

- Record daily credit card settlements from merchant processing portals to ensure timely revenue recognition.

- Generate invoices for customer orders and intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Set up new customer accounts in Quick Books and maintain accurate data.

- Perform monthly reconciliations of sales and payments to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

- Coordinate with the sales team to process invoices and reconcile accounts for key clients.

- Prepare monthly sales reports for leadership, providing insights into customer activity and revenue trends. Requirements - At least two years of experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting role.

- Proficiency with Quick Books is highly preferred.

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation.

- Familiarity with Google Suite applications, such as Sheets, Docs, and Slides.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors.

- Positive attitude and a proactive approach to contributing to team success.

- Experience with Net Suite is a plus.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a high-volume environment.
